blk. was founded in Pittsgrove, New Jersey in 2015 by owner, Alii Wray. A year after we opened we quickly outgrew our 4-chair location and moved to a salon 3 times the size to the Washington Township side of Sewell. blk. was created with one goal in mind; to make sure our customers feel even more beautiful than they did coming in! After 3 1/2 years in our beautiful location we upgraded to a new location on the Mantua side of Sewell! We now have a newly renovated 2000sf salon and a brand new 1800sf spa and wellness center.

Salon blk. utilizes innovative products to maximum performance, nourish and protect the hair, and make our process as professionals as predictable as possible! We offer a variety of products including Matrix, Pulp Riot, Pureology, K18, Olaplex, Biolage and Redken products which give us wide-range of benefits when coloring and correcting hair. Anywhere from beautiful vivids, healthy blondes, or even vegan, plant-based color for clients with sensitivities and allergies. We pride ourselves in using natural-based, cruelty-free product free of sulfates, parabens, sodium-chloride and more! With state-of-the-art tools and equipment we are able to cater and accommodate all of our loyal customers. Continuing education is extremely important to us as Alii, herself, is an artistic educator, a mentor for stylists and a business coach for salon owner's. This allows our staff to stay up to date with the latest trends and techniques so that we are offering the best version of our craft as possible.

Booking Information
Thank you for choosing blk. Salon & Spa! For you convenience, appointments can be made over the phone, Instagram, Facebook, and our online booking! Online booking requests are not guaranteed appointments. Your appointment request will be responded to by your stylist for either approval or rescheduling. During the booking process, you will be asked a few questions about your hair to determine an estimate of the time and technique required to achieve your desired goal. Based on this information a complimentary consultation may or may not be required before booking a color appointment.
All corrective color services will require an in-salon consultation!
Cancellation Policy
We are incredibly grateful to our clients for making our business as busy as we have become! Out of respect for our clients' time, as well as our staff, we have started requiring deposits for new clients, as well as clients who have a history of no-show/short notice cancellations. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us within a minimum of 2 full business days notice (aka 48 hours). For instance, if your appointment is scheduled for a Friday, we ask that you contact us before closing on Wednesday! This allows us to try and offer the appointment slot to other clients on our wait list! We completely understand life happens sometimes and exceptions can be made based off staff discretion! At this time, we are NOT accepting cancellations through our automated confirmation texts. Please make sure to contact us directly via phone or social media for all cancellations or rescheduling!
